Welcome to Texas!!

After more than two months of having a so called "contract" on our house, our "buyers" ended up not qualifying for the loan...big shocker..lol  So our house is still for sale.  However, we decided that it is far overdue for us to be together as a family.  This past Saturday, Dean, Austin and I moved into our new place. Our new place is an apartment but that is ok.....we are all together.  It is a nice complex with playgrounds, pools and even a dog park.  We have been busy trying to get settled.  This past Monday, I had orientation at Richardson ISD and am now set up to start subbing.  I have also been scouting out places for Austin to goto school.  I found one today!  A nice place called The Peanut Gallery.  He will start next week, so I can start working.  I think we are both ready to get into a routine.  We have had fun being together for many weeks now but he needs kids to play with and I need adults to talk too!!...lol

Thanks to all who sent kind notes, lent us listening ears, advice, shoulders to cry on, places to live and prayers....please keep praying for the house to sell!! We really need it too! Take care and have a great weekend!

The Waiting Game

The waiting game of life...isn't that all part of life? I am saying yes. Here is what we know thus far.........
Our "buyers" are no more qualified for a loan that the high school boy next door! Yes, you read that correctly. We have had a contract for two and a half months with these people. It is a VERY, VERY long story but comes down to this. Both the buyers and the mortgage company are at fault for this taking so long. People have drug their feet and laws have been violated..yes, you just read that correctly! Oh, not buy us either. We had all of our stuff done within two weeks. If it wasn't for Dean lighting a fire under some asses (sorry if i just offended anyone, but that is the best way to put it), I believe we would still just be sitting "waiting" for this loan process to take its slow and unorganized time. However, the manager of the mortgage company, now assures us that we will know by Wednesday if these people are approved or not. I am hoping that will happen! Prayers that they are approved and we can sell this house!!
As for the houses situation....both our house and the house we want to buy in Rowlett have gone back on the market. Anybody want to buy a house in Guthrie, OK? We have told the buyers that if they are approved and there are no other offers on our house, we will sell it to them. The same goes for us and the gentleman selling the house we want to buy. he told us that if he doesn't have a contract on the house and our buyers are actually approved, he will enter back into a contract with us.
Now we are at the point where we just need to sell our house. School will be starting soon and I want to start subbing so I can work my way into some schools. There is also the money thing....that is a whole other blog that I won't bother you all with!
Over the last few days I have come to a conclusion about this whole thing. This is happening to us but it is not happening for us. We are players in someone else's life learning lesson. Dean and I already know that we can weather any storm that God and the Devil throw our way. That past 14 months have proven that. God has put us in this situation because we are strong and have the best family and friends that support and love us. Not everyone has that. So, as inconvenient and hard this is for us, someone else is learning alot more than we are. As the sayings go; "What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger" and "This to shall pass."......this to shall pass, we will get through this and only be stronger!

Let you know where we are next week!

Not again..yes, AGAIN!

Well, we are not closing on the houses tomorrow...I wish I was kidding. Once again, there is a delay in the paperwork.... This time we are looking for who is responsible and want real answers. Dean and the realtors are handling that. As for the house in Rowlett, we don't know what is going to happen. I am sure that the gentleman selling it WILL put it back on the market this go around. We should know more by the end of the day.... Who knows what will happen at this point. I will post again when we have more answers.

I picked a good title....

In this game we call life, I sure picked a good name for this blog. Ten days ago, I posted how we were moving to Texas on July 17th, well that didn't happen. Here's just a small glimpse of our changing lives...
Our realtor told us to move forward on moving, even though our buyers loan was in the shuffle of paperwork at the bank, so we did. That was Monday, July 13th. On Thursday, July 16th, we picked up the UHaul and hired 2 guys to come and help us load it. They arrived at our house at 9:45 a.m. At 2:30, that same afternoon, we recieved a phone call telling us that we weren't closing Friday and wouldn't be until August 6th! What?? Really?? Is this some kind of joke?? A really bad nightmare?? NOPE! All was very real! Our buyers loan is stuck in the piles of paperwork at the bank waiting for it to be signed off on! So, there we were with 85% of our belongings in a UHaul and no where to put it.....we certainly weren't going to unload it back into the house! Our lives, once again, changing......
On top of that, the gentleman that we are buying the house from in Texas, was not happy and threaten to sell it to someone else... What?? Really??? Is this some kind of bad dream?? A really bad nightmare??...lol NOPE! All was very real. So, after the panic and sick to our stomaches wore off, our heads stopped spinning and I stoppped crying.....Dean and I decided that we were going to find a storage unit (more like two) in Dallas, take all our stuff and keep it there until we moved. Man, this is getting expensive...AGAIN!!! I swear I am not moving for a longtime!!!
So, on Friday, Dean drove the UHaul to a storage unit, had two guys meet him there to help unload and his dad came to help too. Austin and I are staying at my mom's, in Chickasha, Oklahoma and is extending his stay at his Aunt and Uncle's house! Thanks to you guys!! It has now been over 4 months that we have been living "apart".
The latest is this.....the gentleman we are buying the house from, is NOT going to sell it out from under us!! YEAH! Supposedly, our buyers loan is good and we will be closing on August 6th. I only pray that this is the same plan the God has!!
Keep you posted!

One week to go!

With one week to go until we move to Texas, I have really had to take a look at the past year. One year ago today, Dean, Austin and I were headed out to California, for what we thought was going to be a life changing experience. Well, it sure was! It turned out to be life changing alright! Six months later, we moved back to Oklahoma, unemployed and wondering..when we were going to wake up from the bad dream were having.....but thankfully had our house to move back into. Our lives had been turned upside down, but looking back know, I only realize that we are stronger because of our experiences. God took us down a road that we were meant to go on, even though I haven't quite figured out why yet.

Dean and I have become stronger as individuals and as a couple. In March, Dean excepted a job in Dallas producing the news. I was long term subbing at my old school thru May. Dean and I decided that it would be best for Austin and I to stay in Oklahoma and he go to Dallas. We were blessed by the kindness of family, as Dean went to stay with his Aunt and Uncle Monday thru Friday, and would drive up on Friday night and leave Monday morning. Austin and I had my mom and stepdad close, as well as friends. We now have been doing this for 4 months.....

However, we have bought a house and will be moving to Rowlett, TX! We are very excited because we have so many family and friends in Texas to keep us busy! Dean, Austin and I all learned to adjust and become new people, however, as a family we have not changed. In fact, being apart has made our bond stronger.

Through all of the ups and downs over the past year, I have realized a few things. One is that I am so blessed. I have a wonderful husband, an amazing little boy, supportive and loving family and friends! I wake up everyday and thank God for giving me another day to take this journey that he has for me. I have also learned that in the end all you have is family. Friends come and go (expect that special handful of people)but family is all you have in the end. This life is too short to dwell, hold grudges and not forgive. Why??? Why live life that way? Who in the world is it really doing any good? Life is about living, laughing, loving others and making memories that last.

So, as my husband, son and I set out on our new journey, I only pray that God will keep us safe, happy and healthy! I want to thank everyone for all the love and support we have recieved! I will post as our lives change! I want to share a quote from a friend of mine....it will make you think...

“In your life, you meet people. Some you never think about again. Some, you wonder what happened to them. There are some that you wonder if they ever think about you. And then there are some you wish you never had to think about again. But you do.”
